HOW TO READ MATERIA MEDICA
The question that dwells in mind is,
How can I effectively read and memorise drugs given in Materia Medica?
Homeopathy is firmly grounded on the principles of Individualisation and Holism. Therefore, we believe for every individual, the Case Witnessing Process has to be individualistic and designer at the holistic level.
According to the Holographic theory,
‘That which is true for one part of the system is true for all the other parts of the same system.'
Thereby, the whole process to read Materia Medica also needs to be individualistic and holistic.
The most important point is,
What is to be understood in a remedy?
We have studied Materia Medica till date with a very theoretical approach. We are interested in knowing the therapeutics, key notes, generalities, modalities or themes separately. But here we fail to understand the deeper meaning, the essence of each remedy which connects all the above aspects at a holistic level. If we understand the curative properties of each medicine at the holistic level, we can understand the remedy in its real depth. Then it does not matter whether it is a polycrest or a rare medicine.
We need to read every remedy keeping in view the PQRS symptoms at the Holistic level. Once the central core of each drug is understood will we be able to match it with the central state of the patient. Such an in depth study of each drug will also help us in understanding remedies belonging to the same group/ family and simultaneously differentiating them from each other.
During the Online teaching session, we will discuss in detail the scientific steps of reading Materia Medica at the Holistic level, rather than considering it merely a collection of symptoms. Also we will discuss how to understand plant families, animal and mineral kingdoms and ways of understanding the depth of them with universal easy laws.
